Awardees will receive:

A bronze statuette.

A certificate.

A blazer with a silken tie (for male awardees) or a saree (for female awardees).

An award money of ₹15 Lakhs.

Categories: Awards are presented in four categories: Land Adventure, Water (Sea) Adventure, Air Adventure, and Lifetime Achievement for adventure activities on Land, Sea, and Air.

Ordinary Limit: Typically, no more than one award is given in each category per year.

Increased Awards: The Ministry may increase the number of awards in a particular year with approval from the Hon’ble Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports.

Recommendations: Candidates can get their applications recommended by:

Youth/Sports Department of the respective State Government.

Recognized adventure institutes like:

Indian Mountaineering Foundation (for Land Adventure).

National Institute of Water Sports (for Water/Sea Adventure).

Aero Club of India (for Air Adventure).

Adventure Promotion Cells of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, or similar paramilitary forces.

Service Personnel: Nominations for serving personnel of the Army, Navy, or Air Force must be recommended by their respective Adventure Cell/Directorate.

Ministerial Nomination: The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports can also nominate individuals or seek nominations from other organizations/agencies as deemed fit.

Selection Process:

Verification: All nominations received by the Ministry are sent to the apex bodies:

Indian Mountaineering Foundation (Land Adventure).

National Institute of Water Sports (Water/Sea Adventure).

Aero Club of India (Air Adventure).

These bodies verify the achievements and performance of nominees within one month of receiving the nominations from the Ministry.

Consideration Period: For Land Adventure, Water/Sea Adventure, and Air Adventure categories, achievements from the last three calendar years are considered.
Ceremony Details:

Date: The award is usually conferred on 29th August.

Venue: The ceremony is held at Rashtrapati Bhawan.

Presenter: The award is presented by the Hon'ble President of India.
