The Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Fund Scholarship is created to help students who are not able to pursue their post-graduation degrees. The candidates must be not above the age of 35 years in order to get the benefit of this scholarship scheme. This scholarship scheme is very prestigious and will be helpful for all of the students to continue their education after they have completed their undergraduate degrees.

Eligibility:
1. Hold a FIRST Class Post-graduate degree with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate in both graduate and post-graduate levels.
2. Already be registered/admitted for a Ph.D. degree with a recognized University/Institution in India. Those who have applied for registration and have not yet been registered at the time of submission of application are not eligible to apply.
3. Be a full-time Ph.D. Scholar.
4. Age Limit and Relaxation: Candidates should not be above 35 years of age on 1st October of the year of selection. A relaxation of up to 5 years will be provided to the candidates belonging to OBC-NCL (as per the Central List of OBC available on website: www.ncbc.nic.in) /SC/ST/PwD/Third gender categories and to women applicants. A relaxation of up to 5 years will be provided to the candidates who have served in the armed forces subject to the length of service in armed forces up to 1st October of the year of selection. Total age relaxation on the above ground(s) shall not exceed five years under any circumstances.
5. Duration of scholarship upto 2 years.
6. Area of Subjects:Indian History and Civilization, Sociology, Comparative Studies in Religion & Culture, Economics, Geography, Philosophy, Ecology & Environment.

Benefits:
1. Maintenance allowance including Tuition fee (Stipend)- Rs.18,000/- per month.
2. Contingent expenses for study tours within India, purchase of books, stationery- Rs.15,000/-per annum.

Terms and Conditions
The following terms and conditions must be followed by the candidates in this scheme:-
1. The scholarship is available for 2 years.
2. Incomplete and unsigned forms are liable to be rejected.
3. The Selection Committee’s decision to call a candidate for an interview or select a candidate for the scholarship will be final and no representation in this regard will be entertained.
4. The fund will not be responsible for any postal delays in reaching the application by the due date.
