The 15th International Design Contest, organized by the Trieste Contemporanea Committee, invites participants to showcase original contemporary design creations from the countries of Central Eastern Europe. Established in 1995 by scholar Gillo Dorfles, this biennial event aims to promote innovative design concepts.
Aligned with the EU Slovenia-Italy cross-border project for Nova Gorica and Gorizia, designated as European Capital of Culture (ECoC) in 2025, this edition of the contest is particularly significant. Participants are tasked with designing a symbolic piece of street furniture, such as a bench, embodying the shared cultural values and historical significance of Nova Gorica/Gorizia. The proposed installation should serve as a representation of unity and collaboration during the GO! 2025 event and beyond, reflecting the ideals of ECoC 2025.
