BDFIL Caran d Ache Prize
The BDFIL – Caran d'Ache Prize is open to emerging comic artists aged 15 and over, As part of the BDFIL Comic Strip Festival in Lausanne, Switzerland, the competition invites participants to create comic stories based on the theme "HA HA HA HA", allowing for various interpretations.
Participants can submit a complete comic story on a single board, formatted in A3 size (vertical), with or without text. The entry to the competition is free of charge.

  • Open to individuals aged 15 and above, residing in Switzerland or abroad.
  • Work must not have been previously published in certain formats.
  • Participants whose work is being published during the jury deliberation will be disqualified.
  • Each participant may submit only one project, and collective entries are not accepted.
  • Previous winners of the competition (except for special mentions) cannot participate.
    • Submission Guidelines
  • Projects must present a complete original story related to the theme "HA HA HA HA" in a single panel.
  • The project must be presented on an A3 format in the French vertical format.
  • Contact information of the participant must be clearly indicated on the back of the project.
  • The language used for texts and dialogues must be English or French.

  • 2nd Prize: CHF 1,500
  • 3rd Prize: CHF 1,000
