King Hamad Award For Youth Empowerment
The King Hamad Award for Youth Empowerment to Achieve the SDGs recognizes and celebrates the efforts of young people and institutions that contribute to the welfare of their communities and the environment, as well as those that improve the enabling environment and infrastructure for youth impact. The award is a testament to the Kingdom of Bahrain's belief in investing in the capabilities, energies, and ingenuity of young people for sustainable development and the future well-being of nations.

Eligibility Criteria
  • This award is open to everyone.
  • This award is eligible to UN Countries.
    Eligibilities:
    Category I: Recognizing Youth Contribution to Achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals
  • Open to applicants from all UN member states.
  • Individual youth above the age of 15 years and below the age of 35 years, youth-led entities (where at least 50% of current management/leadership is below age 35), or youth-focused entities (where at least 90% of resources serve youth aged 15-35) are eligible.
  • Each award will recognize a successful youth-led development initiative in one of the five key aspects of sustainable development covered in Agenda 2030: People, Prosperity, Planet, Peace, and Partnership.

    Category II: Recognizing Enablers of Youth Participation, Action, and Impact for SDGs Achievement
  • Open to entities legally recognized and registered in a UN member state in the governmental/public sector, private sector, NGOs/Professional and Labor Organizations/Foundations, or media.
  • Up to three recognition awards will be given, with the possibility of a financial prize of USD 25,000 for winning submissions from NGOs/Foundations.
  • Initiatives enabling genuine youth engagement and action for sustainable development in institutional, financial, technical, or digital aspects are eligible.
