Prix Virginia Prize
The Prix Virginia Prize is an international award presented every two years since 2012 to a professional female photographer of any nationality, with no age limit. The prize aims to support women photographers worldwide by providing a €10,000 grant to one winner. The submitted photographic work should be unpublished in France and not related to press or advertising commissions.
Documents Required
  • A complete resume in PDF format.
  • A brief letter of intent describing the creative and artistic dimension of the submitted work, also in PDF format.
  • 12 to 18 photos on a free theme, in black and white and/or color, preferably as a cohesive body of work rather than individual images, in JPG format.

    Eligibility Criteria
  • Any professional female photographer, of any nationality, living, with no age limit, is eligible.
  • Photographs for press and advertising orders are not eligible.
  • Photos submitted to the Virginia Prize must not have been exhibited in France previously, although the artist may have exhibited other works in France.
  • Applications can be submitted for free or through international experts such as photo editors, photographers' agents, critics, or gallery owners.

  • A selection of 10 photographers will be highlighted through a newsletter, on the prize website, and on social networks.
    • Technical Requirements
  • JPEG format, 72 dpi, not exceeding 2 MB (or Mb).
  • Include in each photo's title: the number of the photograph, the name of the candidate, the title of the photograph, and the date (e.g., 01_LastNameFirstName_TitlePhoto).
