San Francisco High School Design Competition
The Architectural Foundation of San Francisco is proud to announce the 55th Annual High School Design Competition, inviting high school students from both public and private schools in the Greater San Francisco Bay Area and globally to participate. This year's challenge entails designing a Community Resilience Center in Greenville, CA, an unincorporated community in Plumas County, California, which faced significant destruction during the 2021 Dixie Fire. The proposed center aims to serve as a vital space for daily activities, emergency response, and communal recovery, emphasizing youth engagement, community-building, and gathering. Participants will have the opportunity to contribute to Greenville's revitalization and envision its future through innovative design solutions.

  • All submissions must adhere to the competition guidelines and deadlines specified by the Architectural Foundation of San Francisco.
  • Participants retain ownership of their designs but grant permission to the organizer for promotional and educational purposes.
  • The organizer reserves the right to disqualify entries that do not comply with the competition rules or exhibit inappropriate content.
  • Submission Guidelines
  • Participants can enter the competition as an Individual, Group, or Design Process participant.
  • All deliverables, including drawings, models, and design descriptions, must be compiled in a Google Slide deck for presentation.
  • A brief video (maximum 2 minutes) describing the project's goals, design process, and the participant's experience is required.
  • Submissions must be made online through the designated platform provided by the organizer.
