The Dean of Students’ Welfare (DSW) office at the University of Delhi oversees the Vice Chancellor Internship Scheme (VCIS), facilitating collaboration with various Departments/Centers/Institutes within the University. Here's the detailed process for hiring interns: 1. Request Letter for Hiring Interns (Annexure-A): Departments/Centers/Institutes send a request letter for hiring interns to the Dean of Students’ Welfare office. 2. The letter should explicitly mention: Jobs and Job Description of the internship, specifying whether it's full-time or part-time. 3. Uploading of Request: The Dean of Students’ Welfare office uploads the internship request on the CPC, DSW, and other social media websites for comprehensive dissemination among students. 4. Google Form Application (Annexure-B): A Google form containing all necessary information is uploaded on CPC/Spotlight and DSW websites. Interested applicants register online. The submitted application is valid for a maximum of 6 months. 5. Specifying Domains/Areas of Interest: Interested students must specify and indicate the specific domains/areas of interest related to the internship. 6. Preferences: Applicants can indicate three preferences of specific domain/areas of interest while applying for VCIS. 7. Letter of Recommendation (LOR) and No Objection Certificate (NOC): Applicants must upload a Letter of Recommendation (LOR) and No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their head of the department/College (Annexure-C) while applying for the internship. 8. Application Limit: A student can apply only once for an internship in an academic year under VCIS. 9. Eligibility Criteria: The DSW office reserves the right to decide the eligibility criteria, number of applicants for a particular period, and screening modalities based on the total number of online applications received against a specific domain/area of interest. 10. Selection Committee: Shortlisted students per specific domain interests will be invited to interact with the selection committee members. The selection committee consists of: Dean Students’ Welfare – Chairperson Proctor/Proctor Nominee Two members as nominated by the Vice-Chancellor Joint Dean Students’ Welfare – Member Secretary 11. Final Selection and Notification: The DSW office uploads the list of finally selected students on the DSW website. Selected interns receive a joining letter (Annexure-D) from the DSW office. 12. Internship Certificate: The issue/award of the Internship Certificate is subject to: Successful completion of the assigned work. Submission of training report after completing the internship task assigned by the concerned office(Annexure E). Satisfactory assessment and evaluation report of the intern’s performance by the head of the concerned office.
