The Sasakawa-India Leprosy Foundation (S-ILF) has announced that it is accepting applications for H H Dalai Lama-Sasakawa Scholarship for financial assistance to students who wish to pursue higher education in professional fields
The scholarship provided by the Sasakawa-India Leprosy Foundation (S-ILF) is exclusively for students pursuing professional studies in Masters's, Bachelor, or Diploma courses. The courses must be recognized by the Government and offered by government-recognized institutions

Eligibility Criteria for H H Dalai Lama-Sasakawa Scholarship

The applicant must have at least one parent who had leprosy and currently resides in a self-settled leprosy colony

Only one individual per family can receive the scholarship in a given year

Only students who are starting their studies in the academic year 2022-21 are eligible to apply for the scholarship

Applicants who are already receiving scholarships from other organizations or individuals will not be considered

Only students who have been admitted to professional courses offered by government-recognized institutions are eligible to apply for the scholarship. Those who have been admitted to non-professional courses are not eligible

Applications for professional courses will only be accepted from candidates who have completed their Senior Secondary (10+2) or Bachelor's degree

The scholarship is available to students from Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh

The applicant must be at least 17 years old when they apply

The applicant must have completed their previous course in either 2022 or 2021

Selection of H H Dalai Lama-Sasakawa Scholarship

All eligible candidates will be listed in the order of the set criteria of merit in the last examination

Meritorious students will be called for the personal interview and top candidates will be selected for the scholarship by the selection committee

The scholarship fund will be given only if admission is secured for a professional course in a government-recognized institution

In case, a candidate decides not to avail of a scholarship or fails to secure admission for a professional course in a government-recognized institution, the candidate next in line will be eligible to avail of the scholarship
