The Skyroot Aerospace Kalpana Fellowship Scheme is a pioneering initiative in the Indian space sector by Skyroot Aerospace. It aims to empower and support women aspiring to build careers in aerospace engineering. Inspired by the remarkable legacy of astronaut Kalpana Chawla, this fellowship program offers selected candidates invaluable opportunities for professional growth, including fellowship, training, hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure to cutting-edge technology at Skyroot Aerospace's Max-Q campus in Hyderabad.

    Eligibility Criteria
  • The fellowship is exclusively available for Indian nationals.
  • This is exclusively open to all genders.
  • Candidates in their final year of B. Tech/ M. Tech/ PhD degrees in Aerospace/ Aeronautical/ Mechanical/ Electronics/ Chemical and Electrical Engineering are eligible to apply.
  • Recent B. Tech/ M. Tech/ PhD graduates (freshers) within two years from the successful completion of their studies, with no professional experience, are also eligible.
  • Final year college students must obtain written approval from their college Registrar to join Skyroot as a full-time Fellow, if selected.
  • Selected candidates must be willing to commit to regular working hours for one full year at Skyroot Max-Q campus in Hyderabad.

    Selected candidates will receive a fixed monthly stipend according to their educational qualifications:
  • B. Tech Final Year Students: 30,000 INR per month
  • M. Tech Final Year Students: 35,000 INR per month
  • B. Tech Freshers: 50,000 INR per month
  • M. Tech Freshers: 55,000 INR per month
  • PhD Completed: 80,000 INR per month
    • Selection Process
    The selection process consists of three stages:
    1. Online Test
    2. Case Study/ Problem Statement
    3. Technical Interview
  • The evaluation process aims to identify candidates with exceptional academic and mental competencies who embody the spirit of Kalpana Chawla.
  • Selection is based on merit, ensuring the brightest and most passionate individuals are chosen for the fellowship.

  • Selected candidates are expected to adhere to the terms of the fellowship, including the commitment to work full-time at Skyroot's Max-Q campus for one year.
  • Fellowship recipients must comply with all regulations and guidelines stipulated by Skyroot Aerospace during the tenure of their fellowship.
