The L.R. Mundra Memorial Scholarship stands as a testament to the generosity and foresight of the late Sh. Lekh Raj Mundra, a retired Assistant Commissioner of Delhi Police and a resident of Haveli Kalan, Distt. Rupnagar, Punjab, India. Sh. Mundra, driven by a commitment to education, contributed a substantial amount to create this scholarship, with the primary aim of fostering higher education opportunities for the emerging generation of the Saini Bradri community.
The donated funds, constituting a significant sum, were prudently deposited in a bank as a fixed deposit. The interest generated annually from this deposit is channeled into the scholarship fund, ensuring a sustainable source of financial support for deserving students within the Saini Bradri community. The administration and facilitation of the scholarship program have been entrusted to the Saini Charitable Education Trust.
Documents Required
  • Attested copies of the educational certificates as a proof of academic record.
  • Domicile Certificate from the competent Authority.
  • Proof of age.
  • Proof of caste.
  • Salary Certificate( If employed).
  • Write-up in his/her own handwriting of 15-20 lines on the subject ”Why I deserve this scholarship?”
  • Receipts of Fees and Funds paid to the Institute.
  • Certificates of guarantees of two Responsible Persons who will stand Surities for financial liabilities in case the awardee fails to complete the course of studies.

    Eligibility Criteria
  • Any individual or fresh or mid-term professional pursuing fullfledged Postgraduate, Doctoral or Postdoctoral studies in the field of Science (Medical & Non-medical), Technology, Commerce,Management, Massmedia in a Prestigeous National Institute.
  • Scholars up to the age of 35 years.
  • An individual belonging to Saini Bradri irrespect of Socio-economic background.
  • Domicile of Panjab,Haryana,Himachal Pradesh,Delhi and Chandigarh(U.T.).
  • Any individual fulfilling the above conditions is eligible to apply for this scholarship.

    Note: The Application must be submitted on Prescribed Form which can be had from the Trust Office on the payment of Rs.100 in cash or cheque in favour of Saini Charitable Education Trust (Regd.)Ropar.

    Selection Process
  • The selection process for the scholarship involves a Five-Member Committee. The committee is responsible for evaluating and choosing candidates based on strict merit criteria.
  • The selection is strictly based on merit, emphasizing the academic and overall achievements of the candidates. Academic excellence, achievements, and potential are key factors considered during the evaluation.
  • Short-listed candidates will be called for a mandatory personal interview. The interview provides an opportunity for the committee to assess the candidates beyond their academic records, considering factors such as passion, commitment, and future goals.
  • While making the final decision, the financial condition of the candidate is also taken into account. This demonstrates a holistic approach, acknowledging both merit and financial need in the selection process.
  • The decision of the Five-Member Committee is final and cannot be challenged in any court of law. This emphasizes the importance of the committee's expertise and judgment in selecting deserving candidates.
  • Awardees are required to complete the full course of studies for which the scholarship is granted. Failure to complete the course will result in the awardee being obligated to refund the full scholarship amount to the Trust.
