Lalit Kala Akademi Scholarship
Lalit Kala Akademi awards scholarships to 40 artists annually. Each selected artist receives a scholarship worth Rs 10,000, and the scholarship duration is 12 months. The selected scholars are required to work exclusively at the Regional Centres of the Akademi, located in Garhi (New Delhi), Kolkata, Lucknow, Bhubaneswar, and at the camp office Shimla, which are associated with their respective states/Union Territories.
Documents Required
  • All educational Certificates
  • A copy of recent Passport Size Photograph
  • A Short Bio Data
  • Statement about the work (between 10 to 15 lines).
  • Written concept note on the proposed research work (400 words).
  • Two reference letters, at least one from a senior artist or a known art teacher
  • Applicants must attach the certificate of disability (in case of differently abled applicants), Scheduled Caste/Tribe or Backward Classes issued by the Competent Authority.
  • In case the applicants have written/published any publication, then they must submit one published article of 1000 to 1500 words. Applicants sending published articles in languages other than Hindi or English must send their translations in Hindi or English.

    Eligibility Criteria
  • Applicants must be Indian citizens.
  • Applicants should have an art background or education in the field of art, such as a degree or diploma, or provide proof of work experience in visual art for at least five years.
  • The scholarship recipient is required to work full time, from 9:30 am to 6 pm, on all working days.
  • Candidates should have adequate knowledge in the discipline for which they are applying.
  • Exclusion of Regular Studies: Applicants currently undergoing regular studies are not eligible for the scholarship.
  • Applicants engaged in full-time employment or business are not eligible for the scholarship. If employed on other terms, they must provide complete details and attach a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the employer, along with a proper address.
  • Additional qualifications for the award of the scholarship will be determined by the Akademi from time to time.
  • The candidate's age should not be less than 21 years and not more than 35 years as of January 1 of the year in which the application is being made.
  • Age relaxation is not permissible.
  • This scholarship is eligible for all respective artists across various courses and disciplines.
