NEC Merit Scholarship
The NEC Merit Scholarship for the Students of North Eastern Region (NER) is a commendable initiative by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (NER), Government of India. This scholarship aims to support and encourage students from the North Eastern states pursuing various academic programs. The primary objective of the NEC Merit Scholarship is to recognize and reward academic merit among students in the North Eastern Region. By providing financial assistance, the scholarship empowers deserving students to pursue diploma, degree, postgraduate, M.Phil., and Ph.D. programs.
The NEC Merit Scholarship is not just a financial aid program; it's a stepping stone for students in the North Eastern Region to achieve their academic aspirations and contribute to the overall development of the region.
Documents Required
  • ID Proof.
  • Domicile certificate.
  • Valid caste certificate
  • Previos year marksheets
  • Annual income certificate of parent(s)/guardian(s)
  • Bank passbook.

    Eligibility Criteria
  • Permanent resident of any of the North Eastern States. (Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura)
  • Student must not be in receipt of any other scholarship/financial assistance from any other source.
  • Students eligible for scholarships must have admission to diploma, degree, postgraduate, or enrolled in M.Phil./Ph.D. programs at any government-recognized institute.
  • Parent / guardian’s annual income from all sources shall not exceed Rs 8.0 lakh.
  • Minimum aggregate of 60% marks in the previous examination is required.
  • This scholarship eligible courses are Bachelors, Masters, Diploma, PHD, M. Phil in various fields.
