The ONGC scholarship scheme offers an exclusive opportunity for meritorious students belonging to the General, OBC, and SC/ST categories. It aims to provide financial support to students studying in the first year of Engineering, MBBS, MBA, or Master in Geophysics/Geology programs.
This scholarship program is specifically designed for economically weaker students from the General category. It selects 500 deserving students annually and grants each of them a scholarship of INR 48,000. The objective is to enable these students to complete their education successfully.
Documents Required
Proof of Age: Copy of Birth Certificate or Class 10 Mark sheet as proof of age
Engineering/MBBS Students: Copy of Class 12-mark sheet
MBA/Master's in Geology/Geophysics Students: Copy of consolidated Graduation mark sheet
Income Certificate: Certified copy of the annual income certificate of the family in Hindi/English language. Vernacular may be provided in extreme cases
Bank Details: Bank details of the applicant in the ECS form attested by the bank as prescribed
PAN Card: Copy of PAN card or the tentative date for submission of PAN card copy (if not available)
College/Institution ID: Copy of College/Institution ID card
Admission Receipt: Copy of College/Institution Admission Receipt
Undertaking: Copy of undertaking form These documents are mandatory for the ONGC Scholarship Scheme application process.
Eligibility Criteria
The ONGC scholarship scheme offers an exclusive opportunity for meritorious students
It provides financial support to students pursuing Engineering, MBBS, MBA, or Master's in Geophysics/Geology programs in their first year
Eligibility criteria for Engineering/MBBS courses include a minimum of 60% marks in class 12. Eligibility criteria for PG courses in Geology/Geophysics/MBA require a minimum of 60% marks in graduation (with a minimum OGPA/CGPA of 6.0 on a 10-point scale)

Candidates will be selected based on their aggregate marks obtained in the qualifying examination specified for each eligible course of study
In the case of students with equal marks in the qualifying examination, preference will be given to those with lower family income
Priority will be given to students from below poverty line (BPL) families. Other students will be considered only if there is an insufficient number of eligible students from BPL families availab
Terms and Conditions
Reservation: 50% of scholarships are exclusively reserved for girl students
Academic Performance: Students must maintain a minimum of 60% or 6 grade points out of 10 in each semester examination to ensure the continuation of the scholarship
Exclusivity: The selected candidate must not be availing the benefits of any other scholarship or financial assistance from any other source
Other Categories: Students belonging to other categories (OBC, SC/ST) should apply under their respective schemes when announced and not under this scheme
Course Eligibility: The scholarship is applicable for full-time regular courses only.
Bank Account Details: Students must provide active bank account details that are unlikely to be changed after selection

Eligible Zone: The specific zone where a student can apply for this scholarship depends on the location of the University/Institute/College where the student is studying for the qualifying examination
Single Course Eligibility: Students shall be eligible for the ONGC Scholarship scheme (as per the eligibility criteria) for only one course of study once in a lifetime
Decision and Correspondence: The decision of the ONGC Foundation with regard to selection will be final. No correspondence on the selection process will be entertained
Discretionary Changes: ONGC Foundation has the discretion to alter or discontinue the scholarship without any prior notice
Employment Rights: The award of the scholarship shall not confer any right of employment with ONGC group of companies or its joint ventures
False Information: In case any information declared at the time of the initial online application is found incorrect during scrutiny or thereafter, the application of such candidates shall be summarily rejected. Submission of false or malafide information shall be a disqualifier, and such students shall be barred from applying for the ONGC Scholarship thereafter. A comprehensive list of debarred students will be maintained to identify any resubmission of applications in subsequent years

To receive the scholarship benefits, applicants must provide proof of enrollment in the required documents from their respective college/university
Note: Applicants must complete the online application, upload all the required supporting documents as mentioned in the application form, and also submit hard copies of the documents. The hard copies should be duly certified and attested by the Head/Principal/Dean of the Institute/College/University.
