The initiative by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) aims to provide scholarships for the advancement of female students pursuing technical education. Education is a cornerstone in the empowerment of women, granting them the vital knowledge, skills, and self-confidence required to actively participate in the development process. This endeavor strives to offer young women the opportunity to enhance their education and prepare for a prosperous future through the concept of 'Empowering Women through Technical Education,' with a strong focus on scholarship opportunities
Eligibility Criteria
  • To be eligible for the scholarship, female applicants should gain admission in either the first year of a Degree/Diploma course or secure entry into the second year of a Degree/Diploma course through a lateral entry program at an AICTE-approved institution for the respective academic year.
  • Each family can have a maximum of two female children eligible to apply for the scholarship opportunity.
  • The annual family income, from all sources, must not surpass Rs. 8 lakh in the current financial year. Applicants must provide a valid income certificate issued by the State/UT Government as proof of their income

    List of Benefits
  • Every eligible student will receive a scholarship of Rs. 50,000 per annum for each year of their academic program. For students admitted in the first year, this scholarship can be availed for a maximum of 4 years, and for those admitted through lateral entry in their second year, it applies for up to 3 years. This scholarship is awarded as a lump sum and can be utilized for various expenses, including college fees, the purchase of computers, stationery, books, equipment, software, and more. Please note that no additional grants are provided for covering hostel charges, medical expenses, etc.
  • When availing the benefits of this scholarship, there is no requirement to provide any documentary proof
  • Terms and Conditions
  • The interval between passing the qualifying examination and commencing the degree course should not exceed two years.
  • Scholarship applications will be solicited once a year through the National e-Scholarship Portal of the Government of India.
  • If a student belongs to a reserved category but also qualifies in the General Category merit list for the scholarship, she will be categorized under the General Category for scholarship consideration
  • Incomplete applications will be promptly rejected. Only duly verified online applications will be considered for scholarship awards.
  • Students who fail or drop out in subsequent years will no longer be eligible for further scholarship disbursements.
  • The scholarship grant is contingent on the condition that the student does not receive any financial aid, scholarships, emoluments, salary, stipends, etc., from any other source during her course of study at the institute. In the event of receiving financial assistance from other sources, the scholarship will be terminated, and the entire scholarship amount must be reimbursed to AICTE via a Demand Draft payable to the "Member Secretary, AICTE" in New Delhi.
  • The scheme will be executed and monitored by AICTE.
  • To convert Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) into a percentage, the multiplication factor is 9.5. The formula for converting CGPA to a percentage is CGPA X 9.5.
  • If both CGPA and total marks are provided on the mark sheet, the total marks will be used to calculate the percentage
  • In cases where grades like A1, A2, B1, B2, etc., are given on the mark sheet, the grades will first be converted into CGPA, and then the average CGPA will be calculated. This CGPA will be further converted into a percentage as explained in point No. 8.
  • A provisional list of shortlisted candidates will be posted on the AICTE web portal. Candidates with inquiries about the scholarship merit list can raise their grievances within one month. No queries regarding the merit list will be entertained after this one-month duration from the date of publishing the merit list on the AICTE website.
  • Queries related to non-payment of the scholarship due to invalid or incorrect account numbers will only be entertained within six months from the date of publishing the merit list on the AICTE website
