Pre Matric Scholarship for Tribal Affairs
The Ministry of Tribal Affairs has initiated a Centrally Sponsored Scheme known as the Pre-Matric Scholarship for ST Students. This scheme aims to provide financial support to eligible Scheduled Tribe (ST) students pursuing education in Classes IX and X. The primary objective is to minimize the incidence of dropout, particularly during the transition from elementary to the secondary stage. The scholarship is designed to offer assistance to ST students studying in Classes IX and X in India. The scholarship amount will be directly transferred to the student's account, and it will be awarded by the Government of the State/Union Territory based on the terms of domicile decided by the respective State/UT. The scheme intends to provide ST students with better opportunities to progress to the post-matric stage of education.
