SHDF Scholarship
  • The SHDF Scholarship (NISHKAM) is an initiative of the Nishkam Sikh Welfare Council, New Delhi, in association with the Sikh Human Development Foundation, U.S.A. The scholarship program aims to financially support Sikh students from Punjab state who come from low-income families and wish to pursue professional diploma, degree, or postgraduate courses from recognized universities/institutes.
  • The scholarship aims to support the education and aspirations of deserving Sikh students from Punjab and provide them with the necessary financial assistance to pursue their professional studies. Interested applicants can follow the step-by-step guidelines provided by the scholarship provider for both new and renewal applications.


    • Eligibility Criteria:
  • The applicant must be pursuing a professional diploma, degree, or postgraduate course from a recognized university/institute.
  • The applicant must have secured at least 60% marks in the previous two examinations.
  • The annual family income of the applicant from all sources should not exceed Rs. 3 Lakh


    • Selection of new applicants involves a written exam:
  • Paper I includes an elementary test in the Punjabi language.
  • Paper II focuses on religious and moral studies.
  • Selected candidates from the written exam will be called for an interview.


    • Selection of renewal applicants is based on an interview:
  • The interview will be held at various centers located in Amritsar, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Faridkot, Bathinda, Moga, Hoshiarpur, Shahbad, and New Delhi.
  • The date and time of the interview will be communicated through email.


    • Documents Required
  • Recent photographs of the applicant.
  • Mark sheets of 10th Class Examination, Senior Secondary Examination, and later exams.
  • Attested copies of Gazette of professional courses.
  • Copies of fee receipts.
  • Copy of the death certificate (if applicable).
  • Proof of family income Certificate.
  • Photocopy of the front page of the passbook or canceled cheque.
  • Report from College Authorities duly signed by the HEAD OF THE COLLEGE/INSTITUTE with DATE AND COLLEGE STAMP in the prescribed format.
