The objective of the CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme is to provide scholarships to meritorious single girl students who are the only child of their parents, have scored 60% or more marks in the CBSE Class X Examination, and are continuing their education in Class XI and XII. The scheme aims to recognize parental efforts in promoting girls' education and provide encouragement to meritorious students

Eligibility Criteria
The scholarship will be awarded based on the merit list from the CBSE Class X Examination. The eligibility criteria are as follows:

  • All single girl students who have scored 60% or more marks in the CBSE Class X Examination and are studying in Class XI and XII in a school affiliated with CBSE.
  • The tuition fee of the school should not exceed Rs. 1,500/- per month during the academic year, with a total enhancement of not more than 10% in the next two years.
  • NRI applicants of the CBSE are also eligible for the award, with a maximum tuition fee of Rs. 6,000/- per month.
  • The scholarship is awarded to Indian nationals only.
  • The student must continue her studies in Class XI and XII in the same school as mentioned above.
  • Candidates who passed the CBSE Class X Examination in 2023 will be considered.

    Allocation of Scholarship
    The number of scholarships awarded in a particular year will be variable and will be given to all "Single Girl Students" who have secured 60% or more marks in the CBSE Class X Examination that year
    Duration of Scholarship and Renewal
  • The scholarship will be renewed for one year upon successful completion of Class XI. Renewal depends on promotion to the next class, provided the scholar secures 50% or more marks in aggregate for promotion.
  • The scholar should have received the CBSE Single Girl Child Merit Scholarship in the previous year.
  • Renewal or continuation of the scholarship, if a scholar gives up the chosen course of study before completion or changes the school or course of study, shall be subject to the Board's prior approval.
  • Good conduct and regular attendance are required for scholarship continuance
    • Scholarship Reward And Mode of Payment
    The scholarship amount is Rs. 500/- per month and is paid for a maximum period of two years. Payment is made through ECS/NEFT
    Selection Procedure
  • The student should have passed the Class X Examination from CBSE with 60% or more marks.
  • For Renewal: The student should have received the CBSE Single Girl Child Merit Scholarship the previous year, should be a CBSE student in Class XI in the previous year, and have scored 50% or more marks in Class XI and been promoted to Class XII.
  • The student should be pursuing Class XI & XII from CBSE affiliated schools.
  • The student (girl) should be the only child of her parents.
  • Tuition fees should not exceed Rs. 1,500/- per month in Class X and can have a 10% enhancement for Class XI & XII.
  • All applications must be verified by the student's present school; unverified applications will be rejected.
