SYED ABDURAHMAN BAFAKY THANGAL TRUST SCHOLARSHIP
Sayed Abdul Rehman Bafakhy Thangal, fondly remembered as Bafakhy Thangal, was a revered figure in Indian politics and a prominent leader of the Indian Union Muslim League. He was also the esteemed Leader of Samastha Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulama, leaving an enduring legacy within the Muslim community. Bafakhy Thangal's entry into active politics began in 1936, notably during the elections to the Madras Province Legislative Assembly in 1937. His pivotal role in securing the election of his brother-in-law, Khan Bahadur P.M. Attakoya Thangal, from the Kurumbranad constituency showcased his political acumen and influence. Subsequently, he joined the Indian Union Muslim League, where he swiftly ascended to become one of its prominent leaders.
