Vaishvik Bharatiya Vaigyanik Fellowship
Vaishvik Bharatiya Vaigyanik Fellowship
The Department of Science and Technology (DST), under the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, administers the VAIBHAV Fellowship Program. This initiative fosters collaboration between scientists of Indian Diaspora and Indian Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs), Universities, and/or publicly funded Scientific Institutions. VAIBHAV Fellows are encouraged to identify an Indian Institution for collaboration and may spend up to two months annually, for a maximum of three years.

  • Biodata of VAIBHAV Fellow
  • List of recent publications with impact factor
  • Copy of certificate for the highest qualification
  • Copy of passport, OCI/PIO Card/Work Visa
  • Undertaking by the Applicant and the host
  • Consent Letter from Indian Host Institution
  • Consent Letter from VAIBHAV Fellow's Institute/University/Company
  • Bio-data of the Host Scientist with a list of publications
  • Conflict of Interest declaration by the Host Scientist

    Eligibility Criteria
  • Applicants must be citizens of India.
  • This is exclusively open to all genders.
  • Must be a Non-Resident Indian (NRI), Person of Indian Origin (PIO), or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) currently employed abroad.
  • Should hold a Ph.D./M.D./M.S./M.Tech degree from a recognized University.
  • Engaged in active research with a minimum of five years of tenure at an institute/university or industry/research laboratory abroad.
    For Host Indian Institutions:
  • Higher Educational Institutions/Universities ranked in the top 200 in NIRF overall rankings or holding a NAAC 'A+' grade or above.
  • Public funded Scientific Institutes/National Laboratories.

  • Fellowship amounting to INR 4 Lakhs for a duration of one to two months per year over a three-year period.
  • International Travel from the parent institute to the designated Indian institution once a year, in business class.
  • Fully furnished accommodation in guest houses or hotels, up to Rs. 7500/- per day.
  • Contingency fund of Rs. 1,00,000 per year for research-related expenses in India.
  • Domestic travel allowance (economy class) for academic purposes to two Indian academic/scientific institutes annually.

  • Consent letters from both the Head of the Host Institute and the applicant are mandatory.
