WEnyan is a scholarship and mentoring program designed for women working in Chemistry and related fields. The program is sponsored by BASF Chemicals India Pvt. Ltd, supported by the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (Government of India) and implemented by Pune Knowledge Cluster.
The primary objective of this program is to provide financial support, mentorship, and entrepreneurial skill development opportunities to deserving women from low-income backgrounds in Maharashtra.
This scholarship is available to students pursuing degrees in Chemistry or allied areas, including Applied Natural Sciences, Specialty Chemicals, Agro-Chemicals, New Materials, and Sustainability.

Benefits

Graduate students: Scholarship of up to INR 10,000 per month for 3 months

Postgraduate students: Scholarship of INR 15,000 per month for 6 months

Early-stage entrepreneurs: Funding support of INR 6.5 lakhs for prototype development, along with a monthly scholarship of INR 15,000 for 6 months

Eligibility Criteria

Female candidates from marginalized communities or low-income groups in Maharashtra

Undergraduate students appearing for the final year exam in 2024 for B.Sc./B.Pharm./B.Tech./B.E. or equivalent degrees or Postgraduate students appearing for the final year exam in 2024 for M.Sc./M.Pharm./M.Tech./M.E. or equivalent degrees

Students who aspire to pursue entrepreneurship within one year of completing their Bachelor's or Master's degree

Selection Process: The selection for the scholarship will be based on the recommendations of a Selection Committee consisting of representatives from academia and industry. The committee will conduct an e-meeting with the applicants, following which the selected candidates will be notified.
